Performs engineering work in designing, planning and overseeing manufacture, construction and installation of electric or electronic components, systems. Ensures designs meet regulatory standards related to electrical installations. Supervises or directs work of drafters and or designers.

Carries out engineering assignments associated with electrical design to ensure proposed designs meet contract requirements. Supervises work of drafters and/or designers involved in electrical design. Checks designs for accuracy.

Must be able to develop electrical schematics from ship specifications and regulatory requirements. Maintains documentation and data related to electrical designs. Prepares reports for and responds to inquiries from regulatory agencies. Coordinates with vendors to ensure design compatibility.

Considerable knowledge of electrical design associated with division products. Good knowledge of regulatory and company standards applicable to electrical installations for division products or the ability to acquire it quickly. Ability to translate technical requirements into usable engineering data. Ability to function as team leader and member; to direct the activities of others and maintain effective working relationships.

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and cyber security degree from accredited university or bachelor’s degree sciences with appropriate engineering training and documented work history. Experience in electrical engineering, shipbuilding and production processes. Seven to 10 years of electrical engineering experience. Prefer marine experience on commercial vessels.
