Title: Electrical Estimator

Location: Florida

Pay Range:  Open – Negotiable



Job Summary:


Responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings.

Ensuring that the Company knows everything required to successfully bid new construction and repair projects.

Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, regulatory regulations, prepare material take-offs and essential documentation to prepare project estimates.



Job Duties:

Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Attend required onboard ship checks to prepare man hour and material estimates for projects.

Review written and computer-based data to determine material and labor man hour’s requirements and prepares itemized lists or spreadsheets.

Compute cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, and determining cost effectiveness.

Consult and communicate with the senior management, the estimating manager, department employees, company supervisors, suppliers, vendors, subcontractors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate material take-offs or estimates and resolve issues.

Perform other duties as assigned.



Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, institute, or maritime academy, plus three to five years shipbuilding field experience in quantity take off and estimating is preferred.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Outlook or Outlook Express and AutoCAD.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as general business periodicals, professional documents, or governmental regulations.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra and geometry and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions  to Practical situations.
