Title: Production Manager
Pay Range: Open – Negotiable
Manages, plans and coordinates the activities of the supervisors engaged in the preparation, installation and production of shipyard interiors by performing the following duties, in a manner that complies with all safety procedures.
Coordinates and assists supervisors assigned to installation of HVAC, Insulation and Joiner products.
Coordinates the development of manning requirements needed to maintain schedule and budget.
Follows established windows of opportunity for installation to ensure customer schedule dates are met.
Coordinates the maximum percent complete installation plan to support all Systems installation efforts and customer’s needs.
Coordinates Client requirements by reviewing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions, under the direction of the Site Production Manager.
Reads specifications, such as blueprints and data, to determine installation requirements.
Supports the company’s employee engagement activities to support the achievement of company goals and objectives.
Is accountable for installation performance, quality and increasing efficiencies through process improvement efforts.
Consults with other trades such as electrical and Pipe to coordinate installation activities.
Enforces safety policies and regulations.
Maintains an appropriate labor-management relationship with coworkers.
Recommends measures to improve production methods and equipment performance to increase efficiency and safety.
This position requires occasional supervisory activities.
No direct reports are assigned.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; exposure to extreme heat and risk of electrical shock.
The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to monitor and direct shipyard personnel.
Knowledge of shipbuilding construction and production standards.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
Ability to plan and layout work.
Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manual.
Ability to write routine reports, routine correspondence, and track information.
Ability to effectively speak and interact with employees and customer.
Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative.
