Job Description:



Provides managerial and technical support as well as HM&E and engineering, structural fabrication and technical liaison support for all programs assigned.

Supports systems and design engineering for habitability installations.

Provides a thorough knowledge of technologies associated with all aspects of Integrated submarine and shipboard systems.

Plans, manages and performs installations including engineering work that relates to supporting the coordination and management of this highly complex program.

Provides expert engineering advice on assigned areas and develops, evaluates, and assesses acquisition policy and processes for programs assigned.

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for installations assigned.


Essential Duties & Job Functions:


Provides supervision and technical direction and guidance to Team Leaders and Technicians typically providing leadership for a project team.

Develop cost estimates and budgets and is able to report same to the customer.

Oversees the development of installation drawings, technical manuals, logistic support plans and other deliverable documentation.

Pursues professional development opportunities to increase job skills and capabilities.

Contributes to continuous process improvement efforts as they relate to current job assignment and other improvements throughout the company when identified.


Work Conditions:


Work is performed indoors and outdoors.

Outdoors work is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.

Work hours are subject to change, with overtime work as required.

Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust odors and elevated noise levels.


Experience Requirements


Must possess 10 years of technical Submarine and Shipboard equipment and system integration, alteration, and repair.

Must possess functional knowledge of project management and project management tools and techniques.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Software including Microsoft Project.

Must have a strong background in Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) and Non-Propulsion Electronics (NPE).

Must have a strong working knowledge of project planning, staffing requirements to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects.

Must be able to direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress on schedule and with-in prescribed budget.

Must have strong knowledge of NAVSEA standard items for shipboard installations and repair.

Must be able to handle highly complex tasks uncovering and resolving problems associated with analysis and development of technical specifications.

Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
